I studied exercise physiology at Coventry University with a focus on exercise rehabilitation and went on to work in cardiac rehabilitation at the John Radcliffe hospital as well as GP referrals in the Bicester/Oxford area. I also started personal training for myself and playing and coaching rugby semi-professionally.
I then took a career break and spent the next 10 years playing and coaching rugby around the world. The highlights were being in the Manawatu Turbos ITM rugby squad in New Zealand, playing Amlin Challenge Cup rugby for Rugby Club La Vila and getting 8 caps for Spain.
Whilst in New Zealand I also lectured Sports Science and injury rehabilitation at a University and helped international students experience outdoor activities and travel the country.
After 2 years in New Zealand, I took up a 1-year rugby contract as a player/conditioning coach in Spain on the Mediterranean coast. I changed clubs once but enjoyed my time so much I stayed in Spain for 8 years, learning Spanish along the way. That went in a blink of an eye but was I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get paid to do the sport I have a passion for.
In 2015 I moved back to England after meeting my wife and realising I could not play rugby full time forever. I continued coaching but retired from playing after a few seasons at Chinnor RFC, whilst also personal training and teaching fitness classes once again. I also did some consultancy work for the Hungarian Rugby Union which was a great experience.
In September 2018 I began to study a 5-year masters in Osteopathy at University College of Osteopathy.
I currently offer PT sessions from my home gym in Tattenhoe MK, teach strength/kettlebell classes and flexibility/mobility fitness classes through BalanceMK and working at MK Osteopath as a massage therapist.
